With this defense, with this offensive scheme, and with a MAC schedule. You're right, let the defense win you games; that will work based on who we have left. The biggest issue with this comment is it is only valid if you believe decision making (a byproduct of inexperience) is not correctable. What Santa has is a huge part of the equation. Against Nebraska he made great decisions, but he was being criticized for being ineffective (until the drive to take back the lead).
My point is if you start Childers, don't go back to Santa. Ride that horse regardless of what he does. Don't do to Childers what you did with Santa. Instead Carey should do to Childers what he did with Graham, play him regardless of his performance. Tell him he is they guy, and have his back.

In his career at NIU Drew Hare threw 6 INTs in 651 attempts. Santa’s thrown 5 in 94 attempts this season.

Now that’s totally fair to Santa because Hare was great at taking care of the ball, but you can’t do what Santa has been doing lately and expect to play.

I think you’re worrying too much about these guys being mentally fragile. Hare was in and out as a sophomore and he was fine. Maddie too. Do what is necessary to win the next game. Especially when you consider I don’t think any of these guys will be the QB next year.

Harnish threw 9 INTs his first year. Point is the only way he is going to get better is to play at this point. Pulling him after one pick against a bad MAC team won't allow him to do much. If we can't overcome one pick against KSU, Buffalo and a lot of the other MAC teams, we have other issues to worry about. Hopefully he watches A LOT of film and starts to learn quickly.
