The Big 12 signed a Grant of Rights agreement before Maryland and Rutgers joined the Big Ten. So, WVU was off the table when Maryland left, they are off the table now, and will remain off the table until 2024 or 2025. UConn was the only real alternative on the table in 2012 and is probably the best overall expansion candidate for the ACC that is available right now. The Navy/Georgetown idea is interesting, mostly for its potential to move ND closer to full membership. Navy/Villanova would be a similar play with a stronger current hoops program and a new TV market for the ACCN. However, I would let this play out a lot further before considering the possibility of expulsion for UL. In particular, we need to know whether the UL football program is implicated and to what extent.
