HIPAA does not allow anyone to know if a person visited their facility. Especially if that person is a psychiatric patient. In fact, the patient has the full right to refuse all persons knowing if they were/are in a facility, especially a psychiatric one. I know this because i worked at a psychiatric hospital. It is the reason why some people come up missing and then all of a sudden are found "safe" later. Not saying this is the case though.
