Officials had previously said that gunman Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nev., shot Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos after Paddock had started shooting at the Route 91 Harvest country-music festival from his 32nd-floor hotel suite on Oct. 1.

Thanks for the link, it led me to another story where they interviewed a fellow regular that played next to him. He mentions that Paddock definitely had "leaks", meaning his -EV game wasn't even played optimally, yielding an even greater advantage to the house.

Then again, there's no need to stress on playing optimally when you're just washing money, and chasing comps/promos to pass the time and make it interesting.

Quote:Walton said he saw Paddock make some mistakes. He gave him poor advice on a hand once while the two were gambling next to each other at the Wynn Casino. Overall, he said, Paddock was a solid player “with some leaks” in his game.

But he "did it mathematically" says the brother, like he was freakin' Rain Man. What a joke.

Supposedly...There are ways to gain the odds more in your favor by knowing which machines are due to pay off. This takes a lot of money, time and organizational skills to do. Also...The positioning of the machines on the casino floor also impact how likely they may hit. The odds governing the machines can also be varied by the casino to occasionally be almost 50/50. If no one has hit a jackpot in a long time the casino may ease the odds to allow more hits and get the players fired up. If no one is playing?...the casino cant make money. I would bet Paddocks system was more aligned with this than mathematics.
