Isn't that the same hit that got Bradford ejected in the bowl? Spoke with an official at the bowl game and he gave the same explanation as the commentator did Saturday night. If you lead with the crown of your helmet on a defenseless player you will be ejected per the rule. It doesn't look like a punishable hit, but by the letter of the law it is targeting. I'd have been ejected several times over with these rules when I played, but it's the way the game is called now. I don't think the kid should miss three quarters of football for the hit, but I don't make the rules.
