I thought Huff looked "off" against BC; was it just BC focusing on him? I thought he did not have a great start today, but after he got going he was looking very good. It is hard to argue with his 8.3 yards per carry today; I recall his yards per carry last year was in the 8 range, so his averaging 8.3 today is his usual. I have said for a long time he should get more carries, and I still think he should. Even Carey said before the season he is getting better with blocking.

The reason Huff doesn't play more is because of the mental side. He without a doubt has the most talent, but has mental lapses when it comes to blocking and pass protection. For being a 5th year guy, he's not a captain or much of a leader from what I've heard so I wonder if that along with the mental side of things just frustrates the coaches. Sucks because he's so damn talented

Huff has been labeled as having lapses, but I'm not sure its as warranted as its made out to be. Yes He's made mistakes, but so have plenty of NIU rbs. But once you get that label, every mistake is amplified.

Carey should do what every good coach in America does... Play the talented player and coach them up to minimize their mistakes. There's a reason we never hit the home run unless Huff breaks one. Playing him more obviously gives our team more chances to break one but Carey doesn't understand that simple logic.
