I think it has nothing at all to do with politics.

The reason you noted above no undoubtedly has some impact on viewership; however, to think politics plays no part is naive. Anyway, if someone has stopped watching for another reason, the political nonsense just gives him/her another reason to not return. Personally, I don't watch ESPN because I can't stand all the talk shows. I'll watch a live sporting event, but that's all, at least on ESPN.

I only watch the live sporting events as well. I used to watch a lot more when the original guys were on there too.

I don't hardly recognize anyone on that channel anymore
