Temple's value would be the same if they were located in Altoona. A large population of indifferent people who happen to live near a school doesn't add any value.

You are incorrect about Temple as usual. Just an FYI, we are no longer in the 90s/early 00s and the Temple you continually post about bears no resemblance to the Temple of today.

They havent been televised for decades and weren't during their time as a football only member in the Big East (and that is probably a good thing as we all know how they performed then).

They were on TV some of the time in the MAC and have only started to be televised regularly in football and basketball when they moved back to the Big East in 2012 and the current AAC.

1. I don't post about Temple enough to have a usual.
2. I said "most schools."
3. Temple absolutely was televised when they were in the BIG EAST contract. Pretending that Temple's first televised games were in 2012 is ludicrous. See below for proof to the contrary.
4. Nothing in your post actually disputes my comment that:
"A large population of indifferent people who happen to live near a school doesn't add any value."

That took all of 2 minutes on Youtube, and I'd keep going, but I think I made my point.

Well it also isn't 2000. I know you don't like to admit that. Today's recruits were born in 2000

You are correct. But the Syracuse fan thinks linking YouTube videos proves something when it doesn't.

The videos linked don't prove they were shown on any network/channel in the Philadelphia market. In some cases, these games were relegated to stations that showed low budget syndicated shows the other hours of the day. In some cases, they didn't even make it on a channel. Those games were part of the old Big East network but as someone who went to Temple in the late 90s, games with Miami or one of the higher ranked Big East teams would normally be shown. But the local networks rarely showed Temple playing Pitt, Syracuse, etc. They never showed non-conference games unless it was Penn State or a team of that caliber.

My point about 2012 is this is the first time Temple football and basketball can be found on national TV regularly wth ESPN/2/U/News or CBS Sports.

Good Lord, I found ~30 games that were televised via a 3 minute search (counting search in the post above this one). The games span from 1982 until 2010, and we both agree that Temple was on TV from 2012-present day. That's 35 years of televised games, with about 30 years of regularly televised games. 30 years undeniably counts as decades. And games on various channels at various times of day on various days of the week at various points in the season against various opponents is exactly what you would need to run a regression to determine how much value the school adds. I have no idea why you're trying to knock my links for being too diverse, unless you fundamentally don't understand statistics.

Also, and I can't stress this point enough, these links were the result of 3 minutes of searching on youtube. There are probably many more on youtube, and there are probably many games that were televised but not loaded on youtube because Temple doesn't have a passionate fan base.

Next, Temple basketball has significantly more games on TV than football for a number of reasons. Lumping in hoops just hurts your argument.

Lastly, and I also can't stress this point enough, in addition to being wrong, you're arguing an irrelevant point. My comment was "most schools." Trying to cherry pick one school doesn't prove anything.
