RE: Cronin: One and Done Rules "Hint at Racism"

Not to mention in the extreme case; say LeBron James had been forced to play a year at OSU and suffered a career threatening injury. He probably signed $50 million in endorsements his rookie year plus his guaranteed. If he's in the NBA when that happens he's still set for life. If he's at OSU he's got nothing.
Considering most of these guys come from very little I would like to see them able to make a living as soon as someone is willing to hire them. Obviously they need a more comprehensive professional development program but as long as the players association is willing to sell out the young guys they've got a free development league in college.
I believe the college players were eligible for up to $10M (not sure what the highest amount now is) in injury insurance based on where they are projected to go in the NBA draft.
So, this could work both ways for kids coming straight from high school. It's very hard to project high school kids position in the draft and they could knock down the value of several guys who have played a year or two of college which set their projected draft position.
I can see your point. I'm saying there are far more guys who fall into the "Not Lebron James" category than those who do.
