Actually, Dixie State is adding sports and doing upgrades to their facilities as we speak. They could easily add the club LAX and track and field as sports.

Actually, not quite. The upgrades include building a grandstand on the east side of the football field, where no seating currently exist, and will have some corporate suites. Later the worn out track will be replaced. These projects are to better serve the community for events like senior olympics and marching band competitions, not for a D1 move. No new sports are being added after Women's Swimming and Women's Track began in 2016. DSU has a lacrosse club, although it doesn't appear to be active, but since clubs are run by students they have no connection to varsity athletics therefore adding a club team serves no purpose to the athletic department. They have also had difficulty for several years to find adequate field space for the lacrosse and rugby clubs so they can't easily add sports.
