Peter can't admit he made a bad choice.

So his defense is that the state sucks at managing money so this is no big deal. Nobody needs to be accountable anymore, I guess. Smh.

Can we stop blaming Illinois politics for NIU problems? Enrollment and retention of students are the number one problem for us. Do you really believe that high school students make a choice not to attend NIU because Illinois has a budget issue. Illinois State enrollment and test scores are at an all time high. What are they doing right?

Baker and the Board of Trustees have had several years to figure this out and we are still sinking. It is ironic that two trustees are College of Business teachers and they are clueless on how to solve the enrollment and retention issues.

It's not the only reason, but it is a problem. As a father of 2 daughters in college and 1 more going in another year, the price for the public Illinois universities is outrageous. It is cheaper to send kids out of state.

Yep, not getting money from the state makes everything more expensive and at the same time there's less money for keeping everything up. No surprise that parents find out of state schools to be cheaper. That's a big reason though there are others, like general perception of the school. But of course, more money would help with that too.
