Since Texas won't be headed to the Big 10 neither will Oklahoma as it would become too risky. They don't want to have to pick between Texas as an OOC game and Bedlam as an OOC game. And then there are their recruiting ties to Texas. The Big 10 probably gets Kansas but even that could be subject to a larger move by the PAC. In the end Oklahoma goes to either the PAC with OSU or to the SEC with OSU.

The PAC really boxed itself in a few years ago by not expanding to 16. Once the B1G, SEC, and ACC bleed off the Big XII it is basically over for the PAC. Either they hold at 12, or be forced to take schools which they feel are beneath them. At this point they might want to come up with a juicy proposition for the desired schools in the Big XII. If one follows the money, the ship away from the PAC 12 may have already sailed.

I agree they are boxed in. I don't know that I would characterize it that they boxed themselves in. It would have helped them enormously if they had been able to pull off what they tried to do. But if they couldn't get the top teams from the Big 12, they would have had the same lousy choices then that they are likely to have in the future. I don't think they are going to get a second chance, because those top teams have better options available to them.

Didn't they refuse entry to OU/OSU after UT bailed on their plan?
