It's just out of spite. However, probably a good thing because, IMO, he isn't worth that much just like Paulinho wasn't worth 40 million, etc. The current Barca board is desperate and nuts.

If Neymar is worth 200 million or whatever it was, maybe Coutinho is worth it. I've seen many people say he is a top 5 player in the world right now, and he's still only 25.

Neymar is a special talent; however, without state backing there's no way PSG could afford him. That, IMO, drastically over inflated this entire transfer market so basing other prices off that transfer doesn't seem right to me. However, I know that the price is whatever some team is willing to pay. So, if Liverpool won't sell, what are they going to do with Coutinho all season?
