Weakest link could be an aspect of the coaching too. Ultimately, I'd say that is what wins championships. If the guys on the other side have fewer weak links in their coaching duties, they've a good shot at beating you, regardless a few special players. They usually have a few of those of their sideline too.

NIU just had an incredible run of really solid coaching and WMU seemed to have hit the jack-pot, at the same time UT was doing pretty good too. Those others just had a bit more here or there. I'm convinced any of our last three head coaches (Beckman, Campbell, Candle) would have won championship sooner or later, if they'd stay.
