If it was going to happen, I suppose Troy would be fine. Thing is, the more I think about it, I can't find a school I just can't wait to drop. Everyone points to FIU and FAU, but I think they are both making a solid investment in football, and they aren't too bad at baseball. Basketball needs work, sure. Charlotte? They've been down in bball recently but have the history. Good baseball, and I think football is on the rise. UTSA and UNT? Both have made a commitment to improve in both football and basketball and I think they will continue to do so. Etc. So I really just don't know who I'd be willing to drop to pick up a few SBC schools.

Bottom line: Keep NMSU, TxSt, ULM, GSU, and USA away from us.

It'll be about both geography and commitment. CUSA will likely split, with each division cherry picking the best of the Sunbelt. Former CUSA West schools will probably add ULL, Arkansas State, and Texas State. My guess is that UAB will decide to go with the eastern schools, so if the new western entity wanted to add one more, like NMSU, it could. Or it could just stay at 9. I don't think ULM makes the cut under any circumstances, and I'm sure they know it.
