If the MWC were to lose a school they want to look to Texas.

Only if all the Texas FBS schools were taken would then NDSU be in the conversation for the MWC. There are a quite a few to go through between Rice, UTEP, UNT, UTSA, Texas State that would jump in a heartbeat.

NDSU to the MAC has more legs if the MAC were to somehow lose 5 members.

Out (NIU, Ohio, Akron, Toledo Buffalo)
In (UNI, Ill St., NDSU)

North Dakota St.
Northern Iowa
Illinois St.
Ball St.
Western Mich.
Central Mich.
Eastern Mich.
Bowling Green
Miami
Kent St.

Northern Iowa is needed as a bridge before NDSU would be considered by the MAC.

Northern Iowa doesn't get into the MAC until NIU leaves to avoid the confusion IMO.
