The 11 original members of C-USA "1.0" as was announced by Commissioner Mike Slive at a Chicago press conference on April 24, 1995:

DePaul (non-football)
Marquette (non-football)
Saint Louis (non-football)
UNC-Charlotte (non-football)
UAB (non-football)
South Florida (non-football)
Cincinnati
Louisville
Memphis
Southern Miss
Tulane

That would seem like a strange lineup if made today, IMO.

It would be like putting together something like this today:

Valpo
Bradley
St. Louis
Northern Illinois
Missouri State (w/ plans to start football)
Wichita State (w/ plans to start football)
Arkansas State
Louisiana Tech
Southern Miss
Charlotte
Old Dominion

wtf....
