TV is dying as most of us have a online device within reach of us 24/7. CUSA/ ODU have to find away to capitalize on the future of the online stream market. There were countless times last year I was streaming espn on my phone during ODU halftime shows and watching the VT vs APP St. game during the opening acts of the Chris Stapleton concert. Twitter is more accessible to the public than espn cable tv and over the air tv.

The problem with just having all of your games on some online streaming service that is not owned by ESPN is the lack of visibility. Twitter is great for people who are actively seeking the game, but does nothing to enhance the brand of CUSA and its universities. Sadly, the reality is that the only way CUSA will rebuild its brand to something that isn't seen as less than, is by being on ESPN as much as possible. If you aren't on ESPN you don't get shown on SportsCenter you don't get all of the cross promotion... ESPN will inflate the perception of anything that it owns, and kill the brand of anything that it does not own. It is a sad state of affairs, but I would be begging ESPN to take as many games as possible, and I would give it to them for free. Do that for a little while, rehab the image, build the infrastructure for a streaming network, and hope your brand is strong enough to explore other options a few years down the road.

You can forget about national visibility. Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, and even UVA and VT fans see us as no different than they see W&M, JMU, and Delaware. There just isn't enough interest for our games to be on national TV and there is really no CUSA "brand" to enhance. Football is seen as 3rd tier and basketball is just not consistently good enough for national TV to gamble and commit to covering any of our games before the season starts. I have given up on national visibility. There won't even be much regional visibility since our CUSA games only have one team (us) in the region. MASN and CSN used to cover our games when we were playing other teams in the region, but I can't remember the last time we were on either of those channels so now I have come to terms to be concerned solely with personal visibility (without having to shell out $10 every week for a new recurring monthly subscription for a schitty buffering feed) and this should help with that. Even if the feed still sucks, at least we aren't wasting money on it.

I think MASN was picking up ASN's games. CSN is its own thing though. Regardless, you're right. There is no point in hoping for an ESPN slot at any point on a Saturday...I wouldn't mind the CUSA.tv if the other schools had to meet a standard for it. Unfortunately there is no quality control even though we have to pay for it.
