Perhaps. It all depends on how much longer Pitino will be there. The longer he's there the higher the likelihood Keatts could be the successor.

I was going to ask why can't he but you sort of answered this. I think Pitino is like Roy and has anywhere from 3-5 years left. If Keatts truly is the next in line there I honestly could see him sticking around at UNCW if that is the time frame. He may jump back as an assistant to Louisville the year before getting the gig to get to know current players before being promoted to HC. If Pitino will be around longer or Keatts isn't their main target then he will leave UNCW this offseason or next, in my opinion. It will be interesting to see how Keatts moves and what he values, I think it will be telling as to where he thinks he can go in the future.
Good point Dan, i was thinking the same thing in terms of "HC in waiting for a year" once Pitino's retirement is known. The wild card is his son, if he continues to do well at Minn.
