* Incoming freshman C Josh Hernandez was named to the Columbia, SC "The State" publication's "All-Midlands Team" along with a lot of other talented players in SC.

* Brian Mims and Zack Canada will be playing for a new Summer league team in the New England league, the Upper Valley Nighthawks in Vermont. Both arrived on June 18 and have each recorded an AB.

* Josh Roberson made his first appearance of the season on June 16 in the Cape Cod League, where he is playing for the Cotuit Kettleers from Massachusetts. He tossed the final 2 innings of a 6-5 loss to Orleans in relief, striking out 1 and stranding 3 baserunners.

* Beau O'Connell continues to struggle for Shelter Island, as he has just 4 hits in 30 at-bats (.133).
