Considering that both Turner Field and Morris Brown are in equally undesirable parts of the city, it would have worked out all the same with GaState holding on to a little more cash

You know, I hear it is cheap to find land by Lakewood or where we play baseball currently, maybe we should build there instead since everyone is interested in putting our stadium further away from campus.
You'll bash us for doing the Ted deal in this thread, and then in the next bash us for not having a campus football and baseball stadium. Make up your minds.

Find where I've bashed y'alls plans in this thread...go for it...I'll wait...

Sorry for generalizing. Seems some of your GS brethren don't think this is a good idea for us to try nor thinks we can pull it off.

Calm down Stanley. All I did was ask a legitimate question about funding for The Ted's renovations (a question that still hasn't been answered). It was a great idea for the school to buy the land. The only problem is that the school can't pay to have The Ted renovated. That money has to come from sources outside of state funds.

Since the Dome is coming down, how is State planning to play at the Ted in 2017? A football field that meets NCAA regulations will not fit on the playing surface at Turner the way it sits now. The locker rooms are set up for two 25 man baseball teams. NCAA regulations are you have to accommodate no less than 75 players for each squad in the locker rooms (if it hasn't changed recently). If State finds the money to do the renovations, you won't get the keys until 1/1/17 at the earliest, so just meeting those two requirements (though I'm sure there are many more I don't know about) will take months.

I apologize if asking serious and relevant questions equates to trolling in the ATL. 07-coffee3

All excellent questions.
