I have no clue as to how much a project like that would cost... or if its even structurally possible.

Could this be why State submitted plans for stadium elsewhere on the property?

The stadium is a liability. No way it is financially feasible for what GaSt needs. It would be a financial money pit to maintain that monstrosity even if it were downsized. And I would imagine demolishing it wouldn't be cheap....into 10 digits?????

I've been hearing for years how the Braves have only done the bare minimum to keep the Ted up to code. Also, one of the reason they cited leaving the Ted was the enormous costs of upcoming maintenance. I know that reason was way on down the list, however, I just don't see how retrofitting the Ted for football wouldn't be a money pit.

I'm still of the opinion GaSt should build a new, cheaper stadium on the lot they're surely to get. I'm sure they think they're above it, but a Charlotte-like stadium would be perfect for their needs without investing so much money into retrofitting, maintenance, and keeping everything up to code. Start small, create an intimate environment, and grow from there.

Yeah a 25,000 seat football stadium built with upgrading in mind would perfectly fit GSU's needs now and allow expansion at a future date. I still love the idea of the new baseball stadium being on the footprint of the old Fulton Co. Stadium! 04-cheers

I gotta admit...that is pretty bad ass.

What is crazy is at one time we had the outfield wall from Fulton County in 1996 before it got torn down. Too bad that isn't collecting dust somewhere.
