Atlanta, being a pro town, has lots of competition for arbitrary sports dollars as well. Atlanta is like the United Nations of college football. In a sports bar you'll probably see a banner hanging as "official location of viewing parties of (insert school at least 750 miles away) alumni club" and at least a dozen or two dozen different schools represented in the building. The only thing comparable I can compare it to is tailgating and the fans at The Sun Bowl, which has the most incredible local support of any college football event I've ever seen. Everybody likes to say that UGAg is #1 in Atlanta ... and that's true, largely thanks to their Wal-Mart fan base. But next time you're in Atlanta ... look around at license plates and stickers. How much Ohio State crap do you also see around Atlanta? A metric buttload.

^This is accurate. Atlanta is an enclave of transplants from the rust belt. It's not a city of southerners and it's not the ideal place to grow a fan base that some State fans think it is.

Riiiiight...all of those people talking football at barbber shops, convenience stores and the like...its my imagination.

I have to say GS and GT fans teaming up today is precious.

Just because Atlanta is a big college football town doesn't mean you can build a fan base. You guys are in a city with lots of non-native Georgians, you aren't the top program in your own city, and you like all of us have to take what little you can fron UGA's mammoth market share of fandom.

I know we won't agree on this, but you State fans hang your hat way too much on the whole "media market" thing. We're still waiting for FIU and North Texas to become ECU or UCF.
