First ... Southern was a legit good team last year. They'd be able to name their score against Georgia State. But hey ... you guys did beat Abilene Christian by a point ... so uh ... there's that. I mean ... that raucous private affiliated with the Churches of Christ with an enrollment under 4,500 could scare anyone! They're fierce!

Second ... the GT defense didn't find its sea legs until the Pitt game half way through the season. As Duke and UNC could attest, as long as you could keep scoring against a defense still putting the pieces together you had a shot. But the flashes were there. The game was nearly put away against Southern in the first half. They needed the entire rest of the game to claw back in it. Which, to their credit, they did. But playing GT after the Pitt game is a night and day difference to before hand. And even beforehand, GT or Southern could probably trot out their second strings and beat State.

Then play us. No travel costs for us. So a discount on having to play the Fighting Hens or the Blue Hose. You play an FBS school, no FCS, and the Tech fans would probably love rubbing another team's nose in it. You'd finally know what it is like to be UGA and dominate over an in state school. Make your alumni and students feel better from having to deal with all the TBS in school.
