I agree with you about Rodriguez. But this comment about the Darksaber seems to be ignorant to how those types of shields work. Its like a larger droideka, Jedi couldn’t just stab those either. Unless you have a really heavy cannon your energy weapons aren’t going to overpower the shield. And you can’t just jump into them either. The same applied to the Gungan army’s shield in Phantom Menace, droids had to come inside to take it down.

In The Clone Wars they showed countermeasures for droideka shield would be flanking it and penetrating the shield physically, or rolling grenades under them in a way that they would move slow enough to enter the shield. Planting/hiding charges would work if you are expecting them.

They tried going into the shield physically but this droid model was large enough to use a leg to kick them back out.
