RE: Former KSU Basketball players in the Pros
Haminn Quaintance -
"Sitra Club (Premier League) added to their roster 31-year old American forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent State). He played last season at Hiroshima Dragonflies in Japanese B League D2. In 43 games he recorded 10.5ppg, 7.5rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg.
In 2009 (a year after he left the college) Quaintance was drafted by Reno Bighorns (D-League) in second round (26th overall). He attended Kent State until 2008 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Quaintance's team made it to the Bahrain Cup final in 2015. He was selected to Icelandic League All-Star Game back in 2013.
Quaintance is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit five different continents, while he played in nine different countries. Quaintance tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Australia (Frankston Blues), Finland (Kauhajoen Karhu), Germany (BBC Bayreuth), Israel (Bnei Hasharon, Hapoel Kfar Saba and Ironi Kiryat Ata), Morocco (IRT Tanger), Saudi Arabia (Al Qadisiya), Iceland (Skallagrimur), Bahrain (Al Najma) and D-League (Rio Grande Valley Vipers).
On Quaintance: A scorer who can play with his back to the basket, put the ball on the floor or face up and hit the mid-range jumper. A well-rounded and athletic forward who fills up the stat sheet: he scores, rebounds, gets assists, steals and blocked shots. He can guard several positions well and can defend out on the perimeter or in the paint. He was a dominant player in Israel in 2008-09 when he finished third in the league in rebounding (8.8 rpg). He lost a season to injury but came back and dominated in Australian SEABL in 2011 (19.3 ppg, 10.5 rpg). He is an unusually gifted passer for a frontcourt player and he is very unselfish. He can be deployed successfully in the high post or low post."
