McGriff needs to put on some weight, but let's not forget Keith Rendleman was 6'8", 220 lbs. and was one of the best ever at UNCW. That's pretty small for a center, bit we have one guy with that size, and the other at 200 lbs. isn't far off. With two decent sized big men, McGriff can put on some size before he's expected to play heavy minutes.

Keith Randleman was an athletic freak. Can we please stop using the some of the greatest to ever walk on our floor did it as an excuse. (we've been down this road with Vonte more times than i care to admit).
We should look no further than last year to see what happens when an under weight guy is asked to play the post in Boggs. I like the size we got, now get these guys to PTs, flaming Amy's and J Mikes ASAP! :)

And your using an unfair comparison with Boggs. He was not a center, he was a guard/forward and probably rarely played in the post his entire career. The guys we are bringing in are post players and used to defending, rebounding and scoring in the post. The days of the big, slow footed post players is over, and the guys we have are far more in line with post players in todays game.

I agree with you on this when it comes to MOST Mid Majors. However, the P6 teams are still recruiting and using them to their advantage. It's still a challenge when it comes tournament time for the Mids to deal with P6 teams with size like that in the post.

Madison was first all year, they had 7 guys on their roster 6'6 or over, 5 of the 7 were 220 pounds plus
, NU was second in the league, 8 guys over 6'6, 5 of them were 220+
