I understand that, but I don't think we have enough information to know. There are some obvious differences, mainly that Roberts spent two years at Kent St. and was productive. COVID was truly unique. At a minimum it turned college into even more of a job. Kids didn't get the benefit of being kids and interacting with other students. Practice, watch film, lift, eat, and go to class online in isolation. How players individually dealt with that this year is not a red flag. Then, there is a lot we don't know about Roberts (or Pridgen) in terms of personal health/risk, family situations, and being far from home under these circumstances.

In normal circumstances, some kids need a second chance and I don't mind Siddle being that outlet in a measured way. In four years, I think we're going to look back on the transfer portal this year a lot differently. I'm still nervous about where UNCW is at the moment, but the landscape is completely crazy right now; there may some comfort in not being alone...PSU lost 6 to the portal I think I saw. There are some aspects that I think will never be the same, but being able to transfer without sitting a year has created a dynamic situation.

Perhaps. But as you mention, a lot of options out there. So at the very least, a guy like that would be later option not a tier 1 option. Be interested to see what happens for sure
