After reading all of that though, I’m less inclined to like this signing. Two different schools. Two different staffs. Whatever they saw out of him in practice and off the court led them to either giving him garbage minutes and/or not playing him altogether.

If it was one coach at one school I would be more positive about this.

High expectations all around from HS to college. Perhaps too high from him, his family and then his coaches. Cam Newton had the same issues until he found himself at a no name college doing laundry for the team.

It's clear to see he is an elite athlete for his size. Like I said, he is going to find himself playing on a team where he is easily the best player on the roster and then playing against competition where he is the best on the court. Hopefully he is humbled and gets a chance to prove himself.

Look, four star basketball players don't come to UNCW if they're on top of their game. I'll take the chance on a guy like this every time. I'd have to say the upside is far greater than the downside.

Not to mention, this sets the recruiting bar pretty high and should be enticing to other targets. Can you imagine him paired up with some deadly three point shooters and a pg like Phillips? I see alley oops ala Cacok all day long. Any chance Siddle enlists Cacok to mentor this guy?

I love this move and really hope he can get on the court this upcoming season. If Siddle lands a ready to go 5 as a grad transfer it may mean we have to wait a year. I'm good with that. It will be worth the wait....
