That's a great point Mullet. Gettys, IMO, would be a big that is a better fit in a half-court game on both sides of the ball. He's not going to give you a lot of good production on a team built to run and gun. I know people hate discussing Carolina around here, but look at Kennedy Meeks. He was a chubby big when he first showed up at UNC and couldn't hardly run the floor at all. He's shaved off some pounds and is now a formidable asset for UNC. That's sort of what Gettys needs to be. Similarly, in my previous post I mentioned Vlad who played at UNCW in the mid 2000s. He was never too much of a "weighty" big, but had a build that allowed him to run the floor a little more.

I think CJ was bailed out a lot this year from our outstanding back court defense. The press allowed for a lot of turnovers early in our opponent's possessions and CJ could rely a lot on the guards getting us points off fast breaks from those TO's.

Who knows though, maybe CJ will have a monster break out game against SHSU and we'll all be stuck with our feet in our mouths. I wouldn't at all mind being wrong on him. I'd love for him to have a junior/senior years campaign like Coombs did, but it's going to look a little different because we're playing a very different style of ball under Coach K.
