He certainly appears to have the skill level to compete in D1 basketball, it's just a question on whether his size hinders him at the level. Some guys figure out how to make it work (Watson-Creighton for example) other cannot. Only time will tell. Im excited to have him on board either way.

Lets wait to judge these guys till we see them competing for ODU.

If he can handle the ball, shoot the ball and make his free throws his size won't be a hindrance for our team.

It will be if he cannot defend or get his shot off because of his size.

There are ways to get your shot off if you are good. Defending well his offense and ball handling will have to compensate for lack of size.

I agree with that 100%. He was surely shorter than many of the opposing guards that he went up against in high school and he found a way to not only do the job, but stand out amongst his peers while doing it. I suspect that he will find the means to do a solid job during his time at ODU. While being shorter than your opponent can be a detriment in some areas, it can also be an advantage in others. Guys of his stature are frequently faster and possess a quicker first step than most anyone else on the court. They also are typically solid with the dribble offensively and good at getting their hands on the ball when the opponent is dribbling (like Brandon Johnson was). Time will tell if he displays many of those attributes on the court while playing for ODU. Based upon the success and awards that he has already achieved I suspect that he will.
