Think about it.....Wouldn't he go to a bigger and better JUCO if that wasn't the case? I might be reaching but I am trying to put this together.

I guess? But doesn't everyone start their clock when anyone goes to college? For example, my eligibility has expired even though I haven't played a lick of div 1 collegiate athletics since I spent 4 years at ODU. I know it's a for-profit, but if the rules don't affect a for-profit, then are Grand Canyon University's student athletes eligible to transfer somewhere else after their 4 years there? I guess maybe if you go to a for-profit that doesn't sponsor athletics?

Or maybe it's so he can get a degree in 1 year and transfer to ODU.

Or maybe you get a certain amount of time once you are enrolled. Like you get 5 years to complete 4 years on the court/field.

This is accurate. Players do get 5 years to complete 4, and the clock starts when they enroll in their first class.
