GMU also went to the Final Four and was on top of the world, but was not able to sustain that with wins over the next 2-3 seasons. A team like Gonzaga on the other hand had some (less) success in the NCAA Tournament, but mainly they had year after year of Top 25 appearances along with wins on the court and NCAA appearances to get them the sustained national recognition that they have achieved.

Final 4 run isn't necessary (even Gonzaga doesn't have that), but we have to get to the second week, IMO, to build that kind of sustainable recruiting success. But yes, unlike George Mason, we also have to capitalize on it as well.

Thanks. Not having to make a Final Four run was the point I was making by pointing out that Gonzaga had achieved big success in spite of not having that while GMU didn't achieve lasting success event though they did. The key is getting to the NCAA's consistently and winning at least a game or two each time for several years running IMO. I feel like Jeff is gathering enough talent to put ODU in position to achieve that goal.
