As much as we all might dislike VT, you better believe Buzz Williams will have VT competing again amongst the ACC. His last season with Marquette was 1 of 7 he didnt reach at least 24 wins. And if you haven't noticed, hes got a couple studs in his 2015 recruiting class.

Even if he increases the level of competition, they are still going to struggle to make it. Right now you have Duke, UNC, UVA, NC St., Syracuse, Louisville, and Notre Dame that are all but guaranteed to be ahead of VT even if they are playing better.

That's 7 NCAA bids right there...you really think VT is going to be able to amass enough conference wins to garner an NCAA bid on the regular? They will be competing with BC, Clemson, Wake, FSU, GT, Pitt and Miami for the other bid (if there is one). They are at best on par with Miami, FSU, and Pitt which I would consider the next best of the bunch...I just don't see a scenario where Tech is a consistent contender. Too much talent in that conference.

So yes - I think my statement does hold value.

Good point actually.

It's easier to win the NL Central most years than it is the AL East. Va Tech could have quite a few big recruits and still never make the NCAA tourney.

But with that said, Buzz Williams is a pretty darn good coach and it wouldn't surprise me to see him finally get them over the top although I truly hope that never happens.
