a very different take on this song from the soggy bottom boys.

That was a cool one, dahbeed. Here's another "Kentucky" themed song for you:

Artist: Neil Diamond
Cut: "Kentucky Woman"
Bang Records 1967

lol. believe it or not back in 1973 as a freshman at lake weir high school in florida (living in the ocala national forest) i joined the columbia house record club and bought 9 eight track tapes for a PENNY! neil diamond was one of them.

can't remember how many times i joined columbia house, fulfilled obligation and quit and waited for a new great offer. i'd always rejoin for the big deal up front. built hella cd collection that way. still have most of them.

i have no idear where i ran across skeewiff. oddball mix. but i'm pretty open about music. i created a skeewiff station on my pandora and like some of the other stuff it's exposing me to.

One of the funniest moments I ever recall from my Ex Wife's grandfather occurred one day when he answered the phone. It was one of those join a record club and get a bunch of free albums then you are hooked for life deals. His son had taken the free music then collected a few more albums but never paid. Tex (that was the grandfathers' name) listened to the guy trying to find the guy and affirmed that he knew him and was his father. He listened for a while and then lit into the guy telling him he should be ashamed and what a low down dirty thing it was to call on the day he just found out that his son was killed in action in Vietnam. Tex had just thought that up at that moment. He was a very colorful guy and to this day I quote him. "It don't take much brains to be stupid!" Tex Martin
Granny comes out at the BBQ and says "Oh my I forgot the condiments" Tex stands up quickly and says "Granny don't use those kinds of words in front of the youngins!"
