Duke has a large fanbase and it spans more than one little corner of their own state. Duke is a national brand.

Just because you win a couple of games in a row doesn't make you the better program. I posted your 10 and 15 year stats. You're arguing hopes and dreams while I present actual facts. Instead of discussing actual facts, you keep spitting out nothing but heavily biased statements.

Have you seen a Duke football game OR baseball game? Attendance is terrible. Basketball has good attendance and that is all.

Understood, but that really isn't the point.

Duke has followers all over the country. Their basketball success has made them one of the blue bloods of college athletics. They probably don't have a huge alumni base in NC or anything so I can buy ECU having more local fans, but ECU's brand outside of NC is basically non-existant.

I don't think that necessarily disqualifies ECU from being in a Power 5 league, but a school's revenue makes a difference. Not just TV revenue, but merchandise sales, donations, and whatever fans are willing to pay for the revenue sports.
