It remains to be seen as to whether or not we could bring "the entire state" of NC. I would compare ECU to VA Tech in football, once Va Tech was able to gain access to a "power" conference they were arguably able to deliver the state of VA in football. The article states that ECU has played NC State many times in the past but what doesn't say is that of NC States 5 top sellouts 3 of them were against a visiting ECU. We also draw larger television ratings when we play NC State or UNC than when UNC and NC State play each other. I personally think that is very telling considering that the UNC-NC State rivalry is considered the premier state rivalry.

I agree that if elevated to P status that E.C.U. would have little difficulty translating that into a new stadium capacity of 72-75,000 and that you would travel very well.

I don't think any of that is an issue. What I believe to be the issue here is that the networks, particularly ESPN, don't care to pay "P" prices for another North Carolina school. A second issue would be Chapel Hill's objections. They wouldn't want a strong football brand with equal, or greater status to theirs in the state.

Chapel Hill would not be able to block us if we had an invite to any conference especially the SEC to much money for the state to make.
