Both GN and Matrix make good points. One thing about comparing sports to remember is that UAB has always had decent facilities for their BB teams, and those are now vastly improved. Now they have improved facilities for baseball & softball, and are getting improved results in both. The only sport to have only marginal improvement in facilities since 1990 is football so it should not be a surprise that it lags behind the others at this time.

The present fund raising effort may provide the means to build new facilities our FB program so sorely lacks right now. We have become so used to depending upon a "shoestring budget" in FB that we sometimes forget that other schools are not so restrained in backing their own programs. We MUST finance building now or face dropping even farther behind the rest in conference and perhaps the rest in Alabama.
