None of those things have been proven yet. I'm very high on this years ECU team, as high as I have been since 09, but until we step on the field all this is talk. The one thing I'll say about Ruff is I doubt he takes you lightly in the slightest, being that he spent time there and several others on staff did as well. I'm not saying Skip didn't take the game serious, but Ruff knows better than anyone how seriously you take football up there on the mountain, and knows exactly how fired up your team will be for this game.

Talk it is. And not knocking Ruff, but I think Holtz is something special. Terrible career move by him imo to leave. App has been overdue for a great season, after this years great offseason, we're very excited.

I know some will take this as sour grapes from me, but I think Skip is overrated by many. He was a very good coach here and did a lot of good things, but I'm not sure he would crack my top 3 coaches all time at ECU. He's behind Pat Dye for sure, and I'd personally put Logan ahead of him. Then it comes down to do you believe Lewis' one magical season is stronger than Skip's 5 year run? Of course I am probably in the minority that think Logan was a better coach, but he did a lot of things Skip never did like finish a season ranked and won a Liberty Bowl. He also got a lot more marque victories than Skip did. Logan never won C-USA, which is the big knock on him by most, but he also played in the much better version of C-USA than the one that Skip did. He had to face TCU, Louisville, and a USM that during that time was better than they were even this year.
