RE: Steinbrecher's comments
As others have stated if Boise could come early (or anybody else but Boise was mentioned), then none of this would be happening at least for this season. Boise sounded interested but in the end said it didn't make fiscal sense as the Big East was not gonna help them pay their MWC buyout. If they wouldn't help Boise, why would they help Temple? I think Boise's number was somewhere around $8.5 Million.

Temple buyout to MAC is $2.5 Million with 2 years notice and $2 Million to A-10 with one years notice. Thats $4.5 Million right there. If they leave early it would certainly at least be $8.5 Million or above which is what the Big East wouldn't help Boise with and Boise turned down. What will Temple do? I understand that the Big East needs another team, but if they HAVE to start helping pay the exit fees, Boise might just be the cheaper alternative (or Memphis).

I think Temple really wants in the Big East though and will come up with any figure they need to. I just think that 5 months until the season starts that this will really put a wrench in scheduling and that the MAC needs to not go easy on the exit fee so the schools involved in the scheduling mess will get compensated. At the very least they will have to scramble to find FCS teams to fill the schedule and that costs money.

What the A-10 demands also plays into this. I could see a scenario where Temple goes to Big East for football only for 2012 and remains in the A-10 and then at a later date in 2013 or when Navy joins they become all-sports.
