No he did not. He was trying to get into the Big East. (not that others would have turned it down; but they didn't have their resources focused there). He has been behind this. He has been lobbying Banowsky at least since 2006-2007 on this idea. Our own Chancellor credited him in a radio interview here in Raleigh with him being the mastermind behind this.
