It was a bowl game 14 years ago...get over yourself. Besides, Pitt's OOC schedules are full as it is, plus with the eventual 9 game conf schedule in the ACC, it will get even more difficult to figure out who to schedule OOC. Don't forget, there is ZERO upside for Pitt to play USM. USM would be the only school to benefit from playing a game. We both know it.
I hadn't brought up the bowl game. Do you not read well? You're the one getting all upset about that game when it's brought up. It's in the past. Hey guess what, Pitt and USM have played 3 games, Pitt leads the series.
You're right, there's ZERO upside for you to play a team that's not in your conference or a BCS school. So that means you only play teams in the PAC 12, Big XII, Big 10, SEC, ACC, and Big East.
So what powerhouse conference are Buffalo and Maine in? Funny how Virginia found a spot for us to play them, but Pitt can't because there's a ZERO upside. Just say it. You want to play OOC games against weaker opponents that you hope you can win against. Bet you didn't count on Utah laying the smackdown did you? That game was probably scheduled before they went to the PAC 12 when they were a BCS buster. The 3 games Pitt has won this year are Buffalo, Maine, and USF. At least USF was in your conference. I'll give you that. But looking at the rest of your schedule, I doubt you'll win 1 or 2 more games.
I know what you're about to do. You're gonna bring up Southern Miss' schedule and say.. Well you only beat La Tech, SeLA, Virgina, Rice, and Navy. You dropped one to Marshall. It's true. You're correct, we lost to Marshall, but we beat a decent Virigina team who is 3rd in their division standings with 2 losses, second to Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. Not a bad win for us.
I also forgot that football has come to much more than a game with a brown ball and 11 guys playing offense and 11 guys on defense. It's about that almighty dollar.
So don't ever say there's zero upside. You're on the bottom of a weak BCS conference and going to a stronger one where you'll be at the bottom of the pile again. You're not Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin. You're Pittsburgh.
You'd think a school that gets as much respect in the state of Pennsylvania as we do in the state of Mississippi would realize that we're alot alike. But then again, I guess that does fall back into we don't have the right to talk smack and we have no class talk mentioned earlier. I mean Pitt is obviously better than Southern Miss because we are located in a small town in South Mississippi while Pitt is located in the great Steel City of Pittsburgh. But don't you understand that's what makes football so great? It doesn't matter where you're from or how much money your school stands to make from the game.. All that matters are the guys on the other side of that football and you trying to outscore them. On that field none of that matters.
But then again I'm classless and don't know what I'm talking about. Enjoy your 3-4 record until your next game. Who knows you might break even. I'm going to enjoy this 5-1 record while it lasts. Tomorrow night I might be celebrating or I might be heartbroken, the tale will be told on the field.
