I agree with all that you write but a huge part of KSU's problems were that RMU's guards are incredibly quick, extremely strong, explosive and they all defend very very well. They played as hard (defensivley and going to the hole) as I can remember seeing a team play in the MAC Center. I have to admit, at halftime, I thought KSU was done (simply overmatched at the guard spots). IMO, Porrini and Holt are OK. Just OK. Really goods guards will dominate both of them (getting by them and turning them over). I think you may see Sherman, Guyton and Gaines eventually end playing the most minutes.
