CUSA is damn lucky that UTEP is much improved for the last year and a half. If CUSA would have actually gotten what it bargained for (a 1-10, 2-9 UTEP), CUSA west would be as bad as the sunbelt. Why in the world would FSU want to go to CUSA and become a non-factor in the Western US, where they are. IMO they have to keep a western presence. Look what playing in a conf out of it's geographical region did for Idaho, NMSU, and USU.

Fresno can do as they wish but I don't think C-USA would be good for them. They have natural rivals in the WAC in Hawaii, San Jose, and Boise.

Secondly SDBronco has a point. The SBC was tough on USU football. It beat independence, but it is tough to recruit from your area promising games against teams thousands of miles away. I'd say La Tech is the move, if Tulane does indeed drop football.

Were would Tulane go to for other sports? The Sun Belt?
