JEFFREY COLLINS

Associated Press

Coastal Carolina coach David Bennett bans his players from saying one word - playoffs.

The ban continues even after two major wins and a 4-1 record through the hardest stretch of the season has plenty of people ready to pencil the Chanticleers into the Division I-AA playoffs.

"That's the P-word," Bennett said. "We told them we don't say the P-word. We play them one game at a time."

First up is Gardner-Webb on Saturday, the team Coastal Carolina replaced as the young Big South Conference powerhouse. Lose to the Bulldogs or any other Big South team and Bennett likely won't have to worry about anyone using the P-word in his presence.
