1982 NCAAT second round Tulsa vs. Houston at ORU (in Tulsa). Arkansas fans were convinced that they would be sent to Tulsa, which is the nearest city to F't'v'l (phonetic) but instead got sent to Dallas.

Hog fans had bought up most of the tickets, and before the Houston-Tulsa game were Calling the Hogs. The Houston pep band had the good sense to play the Arkansas Fight song, to get Razorback fans on the side of Houston.

This was the game where I saw a young freshman for Houston, who was a reserve. At around 6'10 he had cat-like quickness. This was Akeem Olajuwon.

I would bet we took over Dallas, too.
Could be. The other schools in Dallas were K-State, De Paul, and Boston College.

De Paul had the #1 regional seed (this was a long time ago), but were knocked off by #8 BC. I went to a regional once in Houston with a friend who was a BC alum. I remember at half time he went over and met the other BC fan (singular). K-State would have brought an appreciable number of fans.
