i don't see any criminal issue with what he did but definitely was not representing the best interests of the university system at all and should have been removed from the team.

That it isn't a criminal issue deals with Alabama law and what he did and didn't do. The issue that's causing all the stink is UA's attitude that being involved in a young mother getting shot in the face and killed is not worth so much as a lost start, let alone a suspension. Then they act surprised and offended that the part of the nation which isn't "Bama fans thinks that was completely wrongheaded, that winning basketball games does not make Brandon Miller immune to responsibility for his actions.

If he does not bring the gun, she does not get shot.
