The only two teams that we need to beat to lock down the bid are UCF and Cincinnati, both on our home floor. We can lose both games to Houston and one other game before the conference tournament. We will be favoured in all of our 11 games, except the two against Houston. By the time the regular season finale comes along, we might even be favoured at home against Houston.

If we beat UCF and Cincinnati, we are 3-1 against the other two teams that could get the conference's second bid. We will easily have a much better NET than both of them if we beat them.

If UCF beats Houston during the regular season, and then again in the conference tournament, we will become a 3 bid league. We won't be knocked out with a NET in the mid 30's. On a side note, our NET probably won't improve more than 10 points even if we win our next 5, because we are playing very bad opponents. Also, I expect USF to be an extremely tight game.

22-9 likely gets us a 9 seed. Beat Houston at least once and finish 23-8 and we are likely an 8 seed. Beat Houston once and reach the conference tournament final and we are likely a 6-7 seed. Win the conference tournament and likely a 4-5.

Seems about right. Need to handle business and not slip up to inferior teams. I think the the Tigers can split with Houston. If we protect home court, we can afford to drop a road game, say Wichita State, and still finish with 7 losses heading into the conference tournament.

However, Penny teams can be frustrating. Just when you think they are rounding into form, they go and do something that drives us all nuts.

I'll have to temper my expectations and let it all unfold.
