Bolded, we need look no further than Wes Miller's three predecessors for head scratching losses to x. To me, it's become a somewhat meaningless non-conference tune-up; we can all recall a number of years x won and watched March Madness from home while UC participated. That game will be even less important beginning next season as a warmup before UC faces the best teams in the land in almost every conference game.

Last night was actually fun to watch and when UC gets a couple guys scorching it from outside the three point line they should handle most any team not named Houston in the American. Reed looked really comfortable shooting last night and Skillings continues to provide hope that alongside next year's recruits the rebuild could kick into high gear.

The Xavier folks are arrogant, condescending, bags of dooosh, and their girls are ugly, but they do have a top tier basketball program. As a Bearcat fan it is hard to admit, but that tiny little nothin' school in Norwood with their 10K fans have spent a friggin' fortune in the last 25 years on facilities, coaches, and recruiting. As much as we hate to admit it, X is legit when it comes to basketball. That and I think it's in our heads now, something crazy is gonna' happen and X is gonna' find a way to beat us. Even when we have had more talent, we have always played that game not to lose. We need to set that right. I don't see a time when the Xavier game will be just another OOC tune up game.

It really is an insane run spanning 4 UC coaches and 6 Xavier coaches where Xavier wins every damn close game in the series.

Since Huggins was hired at UC there have been 33 games between UC and Xavier. 22 have been decided by 3 possessions or more. UC is 13-9 in those games. 11 have been 2 possessions or less. UC is 0-11 in those games. Different coaches, different players on both teams...often UC teams that were clutch in many other games and Xavier teams that floundered in other big games...doesn't matter...We've lost every close game for more than 3 decades against Xavier.
