"Halloween Hollers"
Maybe this thread replaces, for a week, "Monday Musings" and highlights that today is a favorite day of our youth (less so now that we have to buy, not get, candy). I liked getting those nickels, instead of candy, in my Halloween bag which back then was real coin.

Yes, EMU gave away, like candy, the game Saturday.

EMU / WSU is a week from today. WSU has changed its MBB staff from the days of Greer, Lorenzo Neely, etc.

And election day lines up with EMU / Akron FB. NBA is not playing games on election night so it will be CFB vs. election coverage. CNN Breaking News: "EMU stops Akron on 3rd and 1."

Fortunately, the World Series ends, this week, before snow starts to fall in Philly. Don't know if Denver has gotten any snow yet, but MLB doesn't have to worry about the Rockies playing in the World Series any time soon. Now, I have to wonder about the Twin Cities.

And yes, four Spartans have been suspended indefinitely. If MSU can, somehow, win 3 of their last 4, I'd like to see them in Detroit vs our guys. I have NO idea how MSU will play Saturday. They could come out flat, defeated, etc. and lay an egg. Something for bettors to ponder. Maybe MSU tanks like EMU tanked English's last year.

BTW, I find the MSU post game incident more disturbing then Emoni's arrest. One was full of wanton assault. The other a crazy set of happenstances without any intention of violating firearms law by the one arrested.

Talking of bets and bettors. I do think the EMU FB Ov/Un line was 6.5 wins (no a tie doesn't count as a half win). The half is to avoid bets which end up a 'tie' or 'push.' If team A is a 3 point favorite and wins 24 - 21 it is a 'push.' Sports books don't like it. All money bet is refunded. Also if the Ov/Un was 6 everyone would take the over with 7, 8,... wins a win and 6 a push. That would be a sweet bet to make. Only '79 with his 5 - 7 prediction would probably take the Under.

And, last but not least, October is primed to be the best month for the Dow since some of us were at EMU (1976). So if you invested in Dow 30 stock fund, you are about 14% ahead for the month of October.

"Stock futures slide on Monday with the Dow on track for best month since 1976"

Better than collecting nickels in your Halloween goodie bag. 03-cloud9 03-cloud9 03-cloud9 03-cloud9 (I rate October for 4 Cloud Nines for the Dow).

Hope university endowments had a lot of Dow stocks in their portfolios. 03-idea
